Black Book: Kendra Hagerman’s Vancouver hot-spots

November 24, 2011

Yesterday, you got a peek into the fashionable mind of Kendra Hagerman, the blogger behind Van City Pretty.  Today, she gives you the low-down on her favourite spots to hit in Vancouver.

Favourite patio:Chill Winston in Gastown. Located among cobblestone streets and stone buildings, the setting is funky and fun. In the summer, Gastown is full of people and it’s a perfect spot to people-watch.”

Favourite vintage shop: “I love the thrill of the hunt, so my favourite vintage stores are the non-profit ones where you never know what you’ll find. I write about my thrift store scores on my website, and most of my purchases cost less than $5. I recently found a vintage Burberry satchel for just $2. How could I not get hooked?”

Best place for brunch:Café Zen. Everything is delicious, and I love all of their brunch items.”

Best place for coffee:Caffé Artigiano. Their Americanos are like drinking a warm cup of comfort. Combined with one of their low-fat apricot muffins, it’s my favourite breakfast combination.”

Favourite neighbourhood: “False Creek. The views are breathtaking and there’s nothing like taking a walk on the seawall with a cup of coffee in hand. It’s the perfect balance of city and nature.”
