Decor Question

October 4, 2011
Does it make sense to have “winter-specific” decor/accents for the cooler months, and “summer-specific” for the warmer months? Or is that just being spoiled? Hmm…

I’m wondering if this is why I’m having trouble decorating around my bedspread. I bought it this summer when my main inspirations/tastes were all about the beach and sunshine, etc. I imagined decorating my room with boho accents, sand dollars, seashells, and lanterns. But now that we’re heading into winter, I’m craving warmer colours and a different vibe. I guess this is the Gemini in me.

What are your thoughts on this?

Here are a few pieces I love that I’ve found in my constant searching, but don’t necessarily “go” with my current bedspread…

I love the idea of winter and summer decor. And I think the easiest (and cheapest) way to do it is with accents and fabric. If you got lots of gray or white pillows that could be very winter-y – it's all in the fabric though. If you have thick, heavy wool or soft velvet or (fake) fur pillows then that would help too. Then in the summer you could have brighter lighter fabrics.
But I”m also a sucker for black so that black pillow above would be amazing!!!
