Grammy’s Fashion

February 14, 2011
Music’s biggest night has come and gone, and it pains me to say the Grammy Awards were a bit of a fashion flop — there was a lot of glitz & gold, some overly out-there outfits, but not much personality & a whole bunch of boring.

We did see some amazing musical performances and perfect pairings throughout the night. A few favourites? Mumford & Sons w/ The Avett Brothers and Bob Dylan; Eminem, Rihanna & the long-awaited return of Dr. Dre; an unexpected performance of “Jolene” from John Mayer, Norah Jones and Keith Urban; and Mick Jagger.

On that note, here are some of the prettier looks:

Lea Michele is sexy in a lacy, low-cut Emilio Pucci gown.

Selena Gomez is sleek + chic in a shimmery J. Mendel dress.

JLo shows off her toned gams in a long-sleeved Emilio Pucci mini.

Eva Longoria goes for fun in a ruffled Ashi Studio minidress and bouncy ponytail.

Best hair and make-up of the night?
I found the hair and make-up gave some otherwise bland ensembles that ‘wow’ factor, and brought those striking ensembles up a notch. The hair and make-up teams definitely stepped up their game. JLo and Selena Gomez get an honourable mention here — their hair and make-up really made their looks — but the show-stealers of the night were:

Dianna Agron is stunning in her dark & smoky, sculpted winged eye shadow.

I love Rihanna‘s many playful hairstyles, but I love it best simple and soft like this.

Lea Michele‘s waves + middle part with deep pink lips make for a winning look.
