Best Dressed: SAG Awards 2011

The second biggest movie awards night of the season took place last night and considering the Golden Globes opened with some pretty serious fashion contenders, I was curious to see what sartorial treats the SAG Awards would offer.

I’m definitely seeing a pattern; 2011 has debuted a new & consistent pack of fashion leaders, and on every red-carpet I anticipate seeing what these ladies will wear. Up next: The Oscars! The biggest awards night of the year, and I’m dying to see what eye candy they’ll don!

My top 5 favourite looks, in no particular order – It was too hard to choose!

Lea Michele was a stand-out in her low-cut, beaded Oscar de la Renta gown, and $1 million in Tiffany & Co. jewelry (but that’s nothing compared to Natalie Portman’s $2 million!) What really did it for me is her hair and make-up – she looks stunning + flawless, casually cool + chic, yet elegant.

Dianna Agron said she’s “never felt girlier” in her beaded tea-length Chanel Haute Couture dress. I love the length, the bit of shimmer, and the translucent blues and greens that shine through. Again the hair and make-up is flawless, the bangs giving that perfect finishing touch.

Mila Kunis came out swinging for her final shot at winning Best Supporting Actress (she was unfortunately snubbed by The Oscars). The Black Swan star wore a floral, chiffon Alexander McQueen gown – a colour and cut that was absolutely perfect on her tiny frame. Her flowing tresses added to the whimsical feel of the look.

January Jones looked demure (especially compared to what she stepped out in at the GG) in a lace + brocade Carolina Herrera gown. A stunning shape on the svelte actress, I loved the mermaid cut on this dress – the well-placed patterns and the short sleeves made for an overall fabulous + unique look.

Claire Danes went ultra-feminine in a sweeping Louis Vuitton gown with hand-stitched silk flower appliques. The blues and greens in this dress really makes her facial features pop, and I love the too-long belt left to hang. There is something completely effortless about this look from her hair to her makeup to her dress.
