Carey Mulligan heads to the ’20s

The ethereal and lovely Carey Mulligan has officially been cast to star as Daisy Buchanan in Baz Lurhmann’s upcoming adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald classic, The Great Gatsby.

With Leonardo DiCaprio rumoured to play the title role, the film has the potential to be a huge hit among critics and mass movie-goers alike. Mulligan is held in high regard for her unique style and her daring fashion choices on the red carpet, and has topped numerous best dressed lists of 2010 – including being named “Britain’s Best Dressed Woman” – but she also has a timeless and classic beauty to her. I can’t wait to see her in all the Gatsby-era costumes!!

Canadian fashion designer Erdem Moraglioglu, a judge on the Harper’s Bazaar UK panel that named her “Best Dressed Woman”, called her style “so ’60s French New Wave — like a Godard starlet — but totally modern.”
